Team Ghana succumbed to Nigeria by a hairs breadth in the 4×100 men’s relay event at the ongoing 2023 All African Games.
While the defending champions, team Ghana clocked a time of 38.43s. Team Nigeria won the race by a whisker, in 38.41 seconds and team Liberia settling for third place in 38.73 seconds.
Ghana started the race in an incredible fashion, leading the pack after the first two changes of the baton. In the final change however, Joseph Amoah encountered a slight hitch, which unfortunately played right in favor of team Nigeria that kept their momentum.
Ghana’s team consisted of Edwin Gadayi, Hammond Solomon, 200m record holder Joseph Paul Amoah and 100m superstar Benjamin Azamati.
Team Nigeria was made up of Itsekiri Usheoritse, Israel Sunday, Ekanem Consider and Akintola Alaba Olunkunle.
Team Liberia had the likes of Reeves Jabez, Sherman John, Matadi Emmanuel and Fahnbulleh Joseph.
