The National Status of Student Entrepreneurs (Snee) was officially launched on Tuesday at Amadou Makhtar Mbow University in Diamniadio, in the presence of higher education authorities. Moussa Baldé, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, who chaired the meeting, welcomed in advance a discovery that will allow students to leave their studies with the status of an entrepreneur. “The Entrepreneurship Program of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (Auf) comes at the right time because it contributes positively to our efforts to build the Senegal of our dreams,” said Mesri in his opening speech.
The Auf, which allowed the materialization of this project for the universities of Senegal, made the case, through its Rector, Slim Khalbous, good points garnered in Tunisia and Morocco through the said project. It will thus be a question of going through this direction for significant benefits for Senegal and other countries within the framework of a pilot phase in sub-Saharan Africa. “We are proud to participate in the deployment of its pilot phase in Senegal, at the same time as its launch in seven other countries, namely Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Haiti, and Maurice”, noted Professor Baldé on this subject. He indicated that an experimental phase of the program at Ucad through the establishment of a pilot center for entrepreneurial pre-incubation of students.
