Commissioned by Egyptian president Abd El-Fattah El-SiSi in Port Said, Egypt on 23rd January, 2021, the El-Fayrouz Fish Farm spans 15,000 feddans (a feddan is a unit of area used in Egypt, Sudan and Syria) and will provide 10,000 full-time job opportunities.
The farm is expected to bridge the gap between production and consumption, reduce imports, increase exports, and help achieve self-sufficiency for the country.
Egypt Fish Production ranks 1st in Africa and 6th in the whole world.
