Did you know the Al – Nejashi mosque is the first mosque built in Africa?

It is located in Negash, a small town in the Tigray region in Northern Ethiopia.

It is named after Nejashi, the king of Abyssinia modern day (Ethiopia) who hosted the companions of the Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him) who escaped persecution in Makkah.
