The 2019 Black Star International Film Festival kicked off today with an opening ceremony at Alliance Française in Accra.
A total of twenty-seven films have been chosen to compete in seven categories: Short Film, Feature Film, Documentary, Africa Rising, Women in Film, Student Film, and Animation.
This year\’s festival is scheduled to run from August 21 to August 22, and will feature activities Including panel discussions, musical concerts, awards night, African Film Market, and film screening.
The Black Star International Film Festival is an annual event platform that allows filmmakers to learn, network, conduct business, and celebrate their craft within an African context, thereby bridging \”the gap between African Cinema and the world.
