In Ghana, football is more than a game. It fills stadiums, sparks debate, unites communities, and serves as a powerful expression of national identity. Yet for many Ghanaian supporters, participation in global football culture often ends long before the first whistle is blown.
Road to the World Cup: At All Costs is an audio documentary that follows the experiences of Ghanaian football fans navigating the barriers that stand between them and the world’s biggest sporting event. Through personal stories and lived realities, the documentary explores how visa regimes, economic constraints, and global mobility systems influence who gets to travel, who gets to attend, and ultimately who gets to belong.
Told through a distinctly Ghanaian lens, the documentary reveals how access to global sport is not equally shared, raising wider questions about representation, opportunity, and participation in an increasingly connected world.
