On top of a deadly virus, the country is grappling with back to back violent crimes that have resulted in innocent Black lives being lost. Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Aubrey, and George Floyd, among others, have been killed by police or white supremacists all within the last few months. As a result, protests have sprung up in all 50 states and across the world advocating for justice for these individuals as well as the many others whose lives were taken without consequence.
Enough is enough. People from all communities have come together to protest. Millennials and Gen-Zers have shown up with their fist up and their feelings written boldly across signs. These symbols of resistance speak for themselves and show the resilience of the next generation. We are in good hands. Check out this week’s roundup of our favorite protest signs from demonstrators below.Essence Covers the Protests and Injustice Around the CountryEssence Covers the Protests and Injustice Around the Country after the murders of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and George Floyd.
