Zambia Crowned 2019 COSAFA Under-17 Winners.

Zambia has beaten Mozambique 2-0 to win the 2019 Cosafa men’s under-17 championship held in Blantyre, Malawi. Goals from Joseph Banda and Rickson Ng’ambi handed the Zambians their second southern African regional title.

Defending champions Angola were also up in arms against eSwatini for the place play-off, with the Angolans scoring 5-0 to claim the bronze. Angolan Striker Valdemiro Domingos scored a hat-trick to finish the tournament with five goals to his credit. He shared the golden boot with Zambia’s Ng’ambi and Mozambique’s Simon Cipriano.

Zambia’s Moses Mulenga was adjudged the player of the tournament while their goalkeeper, Iford Mwale claimed the Golden Glove.
Organized by the Council of Southern African Football Association (COSAFA), the under-17 tournament is held annually and brings together 12 teams from Southern Africa to compete for the trophy.
