13th ALL AFRICAN GAMES: EVANS CADMAN YAMOAH GRABS GOLD FOR GHANA IN AN INCREDIBLE DISPLAY OF ATHLETICISM

In a late afternoon display of incredible athleticism and perhaps showmanship, Ghana’s Evans Cadman Yamoah eased passed his competitors to secure gold in the high jump event.

Ghana’s Rose Yeboah had also picked up gold in the women’s category three days earlier, setting the stage for Cadman’s amazing performance.

In a packed University of Ghana Stadium, where his athletic journey began, Cadman soared to victory by clearing a height of 2.23 meters, to effectively dumpen the hopes of his competitors across the continent.

Morocco’s Hannouda Saad picked up silver after overcoming a height of 2.21 meters, while South Africa’s Links Mpho Benjamin secured the bronze medal.

Cadman’s incredible achievement on the day, adds to Ghana’s medal tally to aid the slow but steady climb of the host nation on the medal table.
